 Professionalism.

Being professional in the education setting requires me as the teacher to continuously learn and improve upon myself.  This not only means researching new practices to implement in my own classroom, but involves collaboration with my colleagues to improve our school as a whole while adhering to state standards and policies.

Artifacts

The artifacts below are examples of my collaboration with colleagues as well taking a stand on important issues that affect our students and education community.  It is important to advocate for what will improve the quality of learning  the betterment of all students .

Advocacy Project

This artifact is a presentation on psychological disorders.  Many of our students and colleagues may know someone with or they themselves may suffer from one of these disorders. As an educator is important to learn about some of the issues our students may struggle with that aren't outwardly visible in order to better understand what we can do to support and ensure they feel supported in the classroom.

Awareness Poster

This poster is an informational poster on educational funding gaps.  I've included this as evidence of advocating for issues that affect our school systems and quality of our students education.

Reading Response

This article is a response to one of my education courses readings.  The reading discussed closure activities for the classroom.  This artifact is included as evidence of my willingness to continuously learn and research new practices.  These research notes are relevant to my classroom as they give me creative ways to administer closing activities.

Infographic

This infographic is on the book We Want To Do More Than Survive. I included this artifact not only as evidence of continuous learning but also as an example of collaboration with colleagues as this was a group effort where we exchanged ideas and decided what information was key to our reflection on the book.
