Literacy.
A high level of literacy allows myself as an educator to better facilitate instruction. This also allows to teach my students effective reading, writing, and effective oral communication skills in an engaging manner.
Artifacts
Below are lesson designs and a children's book critique; I feel as though both to these adequately show my ability to use my knowledge of literacy to create classroom content that supports direct instruction, active inquiry, collaboration, and positive interaction.

Finding Langston
This artifact is a critique/ exaltation of the chapter book Finding Langston. This book follows the story of a young boy who makes a big move and struggles with grief. loneliness and bullying; yet through this adversity he finds comfort in literature. I've included this artifact as it is evidence of my ability to evaluate children's literature and determine appropriate readings for my class as well as meet literature standards for each students grade level.

Lesson Designs
These four lesson designs are each created for the four levels of reading instruction. I've included these as they are representative of my ability to scaffold literacy instruction for my students as they advance their own literacy skills.
