Bio
Welcome to my site! My name is Kimberly Hammond aka Kim Hammond. I am originally from Jackson, New Jersey. My passions include art, traveling, and trying new foods. My absolute pride and joy is my orange cat Giotto that I adopted and named after the famous pre-renaissance artist.
Education
I went to high-school at Jackson Memorial High School in Jackson, New Jersey. From there I moved a fifteen hour drive from my hometown all the way down to Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. At Auburn I am double majoring in Elementary Education and Studio Art. I hope down the road to eventually be able to become an Elementary Art Teacher.
Employment
Summer of 2018 I worked for the Auburn University Housing and Residence Department as a Summer RA. Currenly I am Studio Coordinator and Saturday art teacher for students aged 5-13 at The Art Studio Auburn as well as in charge of the social media.
Teaching Philosophy
I believe that each child who enters my class is unique and have an individual knowledge and skill set that should be embraced in the classroom for optimal learning. I will assist my students in expressing themselves as well as the differences of others to encourage learning and growth.

Each classroom has its own diverse community; my role as their teacher is to help each child in their journey toward finding themselves and their own potential, and individual learning styles. In the classroom I will incorporate these different learning styles and ensure the content is relevant to my students lives. I will incorporate creative ways of engaging and activating student learning through hands-on learning, cooperative learning, projects, themes, and individual work.
